The skin on our face is delicate and thin compared to other parts of our body. We have to take particular care of this area if we want to keep our skin healthy and youthful. With the right steps, starting as early as puberty, we can conserve the youthfulness of our face.

To achieve this, we must care, clean, protect, and nurture the skin with the products that correspond with our skin type.

  1. Cleaning

    The face should be washed twice a day to eliminate dead skin cells and to allow the pores to open up and breathe. The morning cleansing takes away the sebum (part of the oil on the surface of our skin) that has accumulated during the night, whereas the evening cleansing dislodges dirt, sebum, and make-up residue (if any) from the skin.

    Take care to use a proper eye makeup remover before cleaning the rest of the face.

    It is imperative to clean your face with a cleaning lotion and not with soap. Soap will dry the skin and take away its natural lubricants, which may cause the skin to wrinkle faster.

  2. PH Balance and Revitalising

    A balanced pH skin reacts best to moisturizing. This step of the skin care process allows the skins pores to firm up and eliminate all residues, to re-establish the skin’s normal pH levels and to accentuate the efficiency of the moisturizer.

  3. Treatments

    Different ages, climate conditions, work environments, skin problems or other factors that influence the skin require different methods of treatment. No matter if you are trying to treat crow’s feet, freckles, wrinkles, a dull or harsh look, or tiredness from your skin, it is important to choose the solution to your specific skin type.

  4. Moisturizing

    To alleviate the dryness caused by wind, cold, smoke, etc, we must constantly moisturize our skin. Moisturizers contain antioxidants that neutralize the harmful effects of free radicals and also work to better fix moisture onto the skin, which then revitalizes and alleviates the skin. The moisturizer acts as a shield to protect the skin from drying.

    Moisturizing is certainly the most important step to skin care. To obtain the maximum effect, moisturize twice a day, once in the morning and once at night, on slightly damp skin, such as after a bath or shower, which will help the absorption into the skin.

    When you choose a moisturizer that contains a sun block of 15 SPF or higher, you are also protecting your skin against the sun’s rays. It is also easier to apply make-up on skin that has been well moisturized.

There exist many skin care products specific to each persons needs, such as night creams, exfoliation, refreshing gels, masks, etc, that will improve the tone and texture of your skin.

Regular exfoliation eliminates dead skin cells on the surface and encourages the penetration of moisturizers. Refreshing gels are excellent for bags under the eyes. Night creams help to regenerate and revitalize the skin during sleep.
